7Byte Computers Announces Hot CPU Tester Pro 4 To Support The AMD Athlon™ 64 Processor

Vancouver, BC, Canada -- September 23, 2003 --7Byte Computers today announced Hot CPU Tester Pro 4 to support the AMD Athlon™ 64 processor.

Hot CPU Tester is a burn-in diagnostic tool which tests the CPU, as well as virtually all parts of the motherboard for errors, bugs and defective parts. It is a burn-in test program designed with the state–of- the- art DefectTrack engine. DefectTrack is a technology developed by 7Byte Computers to assess a system’s stability and general health. Hot CPU Tester is currently being used in a variety of labs and governmental organizations around the world, as a reliable diagnostic and trouble shooting program.

“7Byte Computers’ Hot CPU Tester Pro 4 enables AMD Athlon™ 64 processor-based PC users to test the stability of their high-end 64-bit systems in a 32-bit environment, ” said Damon Chitsaz, president, 7Byte Computers, Inc. “7Byte Computers’ Hot CPU Tester is a reliable tool for analyzing and diagnosing AMD Athlon™ 64 processor-based systems.”

“The AMD Athlon 64 processors will offer users an unprecedented level of performance and capacity to expand into a 64-bit environment while maintaining 32-bit compatibility and performance, said Tim Wright, director, desktop marketing, AMD’s Computation Products Group. “7Byte’s Hot CPU Tester Pro 4 can help customers not only maximize their experiences with the AMD64 platform, but also help them explore the different form factor options to build the optimal PC.”

Hot CPU Tester Pro 4 consists of several test modules to stress-test each component within a system. Defective parts are most likely for to fail while they are under a heavy load , when the heat production is at its highest. The testing modules intentionally stress all components to their maximum limits to assess their integrity. Unstable parts cannot endure these pressures and will fail the tests, allowing the opportunity for an upgrade or exchange before the PC is released into a production environment. It is recommended that Hot CPU Tester should run for at least six hours to fully check the system. If a system is stable under hard conditions for six hours, it is unlikely to generate errors during normal operating conditions.
